some truth about recovery from this treatment
Posted March 7th, 2012 by adminYour Question for Lloyd | I
am 3 months off Ribavirin and Interferon. The virus was undetectable 1
month into treatment and I stopped treatment 3 weeks early. I wish I had
stopped earlier as I feel brain damaged and Nervous System Damaged.
Cognitive Motor skills damaged...Eye sensitivity, emotonal and mental
problems, depressed & fatigued. Will I recover? My boyfriend is
still with me and I sometimes feel he thinks I use it as an excuse...and
I question myself so I would like to hear some truth about recovery
from this treatment. I took the treatment for almost 6 months and I am a
40 year old woman with no other health problems. |

My name is Sammy, I went through the treatment , approximately 4 years ago , during the treatment I suffered burning sensations of the skin , server depression and isolation , pains in my joints , and ribs ,
I was cleared of the hep. C , but was left with the side effects , three years on , I have lost my marriage of three years as my wife could not handle the mood changes , I have a fear that I may never be normal ever again , I was told that it was impossible for me to be experiencing side affects three years after treatment . so I looked up long term side effects from interferon and found out that many people are experiencing side affects well after treatment , my mental state has deteriated, I no longer function as I did before treatment , I have loss of memory , I am emotionally unstable , I am depressed a lot , and have no ambition for life , it is as though I am just existing, I have major pains in my right leg, and now have got tendonitis in both arms ,

I'm over the Flu and pneumonia now and doing well. In addition to HCV I have cholelithiasis which I'm treating with diet and only hurts when I eat the wrong foods. I don't want surgery.

Depression overlooked in patients with hepatitis C; compromising HCV therapy
Posted August 4th, 2010 by adminLower patient productivity and higher healthcare benefit costs add to burden of HCV infection
