In recent blood tests my Ferritin dropped from 260, where it wasfor the previous four tests over 15 months, down to 140. Is that a good sign that Ferritin dropped that much? Also AST went up from 48 to 56 and ALT from 24 to 32. Is that fluctuation a usual pattern. When I started herbal treatment late 2008 AST was 135 and ALT was 110 approximately.
Also is Virgin Cold Pressed Coconut Oil good for the liver? I was thinking of starting to take Coconut oil as it may be helpful with my HypoThyroid condition. Then I could stop taking Synthroid which is the single allopathic drug I ever take.
I hope everything is going good for you Lloyd,
all the best.

Hello David,
It is good that your ferritin went down.
Since your ast and alt were at 135 and 110 it would be normal for these numbers to move some. Also please know that physical activity will make a difference in the ast and alt. Kaiser likes to say not to do exercise for 20 minutes before lab work. I have clients who work out, go on 80 mile hikes and I see a rise of dozens of points over long periods of time which is far different than what the "authorities" claim is the norm.
As far as Coconut oil goes, I use to hear a lot about it but I do not now. Many oil products and hep c do not go together well. Oil based vitamin E, D, Flax Seed will often raise the ast and alt when taken in large doses.
You can try the coconut oil but please do not take too much.
In health,
Lloyd
