Subject: Long term disabilities from taking Roche Pegasys

I hope we all can get together and find an attorney to represent us in this situation. I have hep C. I contracted through a blood transfusion in 1989. I have the hardest version to treat geno-type 1. I did interferon treatment 7 days a week with riboshpere. Initial plan was a full year of interferon and with the chance of 65% Hep C of returning.

During the treatment. I was severely fatigued, broke out with sores, had a rash that burnt my skin leaving scars on my legs and feet, severely confused, developed hepatic encelopathy had my drivers license cancelled because during the hepatic encelopathy I did not know where I was, who I was or what I was doing. I was driving my car when I had a (HE) flair up and so DMV and the Dr.'s advised no more driving.

On several occasions I would wake up with 30 lbs of water retention over night. I have RA so that is another complication and the joint pain and stiffness was always 10 times worse. I couldn't even be treated for my RA because the drugs used to treat RA destroys the liver. I developed HBP and Hyper-thyroidism the first week of treatment. The interferon has compromised my liver in a more dangerous state. I couldn't even go outside for everything was white the interferon effected my eyesight as well.

With every side effect a different specialist needed to be seen. The gasternology stated the liver was their speciality and all the other side effects from the interferon where other Dr.'s specialties. After 12 weeks of double interferon my viral load did not change what-so-ever.

I am still confused, can't drive, loss my job due to an hardship on my company because of the Interferon chemo and my illness. I have four nurses who come and assist me each week. I was falling so now I have to use a walker do to gait problems. My body is very much weakened, no energy and severely fatigued. I have been in and out of the hospital several times and the interferon has changed me. I am not the same person anymore. I am on 14 different medications just to keep my liver managed. I still get the fluid retention so I am some heavy duty diuretics.

I am now in the end stages of liver disease. I am praying to get on a transplant list to save my life. I hope this and the other letters get into the right attorney's hands and something can be done before it effects other people too.
