I took interferon/ribvarin for 17 weeks, I didn't feel well at all and with consultation with the doctor it was agreed I would stop treatment. Within a week of stopping treatment, my eyes swelled and became very painful, and I couldn't speak properly. I then developed pain all through my body and became so weak I couldn't support my body and experienced a lot of pain in my joints and muscles.

My blood results were worrying, and eventually I was prescribed prednisone to stop the inflammation and joint pain. Which I stayed on for 4 months. 12 months later, my blood results are almost normal but I still suffer extreme stiffness and pain in my joints and muscles to the point I can barely walk on bad days. I am also terribly forgetful, I sometimes don't know where I've put something 30 seconds later. This has impacted on my working life.

The medical profession have not offered me any advice about this only more prednisone which I refuse to take.

Do you think I will get better in time ?

I would appreciate your advice.
