Hi Lloyd,

This is Laurie G. I’ve been on your program 4 for 9 ½ months. My liver enzymes were in normal range after 3 months on your program. I don’t know what my viral load is, the Dr. won’t run one, but I feel much better and have more energy than I did this time last year. Thank you.

I was wondering if you had any words of encouragement. Seems like my life fell apart when I got my diagnosis and went through treatment with peg-interferon / ribavirin. I’m type 1a, had seven months of combo treatment, and had the A and B vaccines, all before I found your book.

I had a good paying, but not permanent, job at the time. I worked 10-hour days on my feet during treatment and my supervisors were aware of what I was going through. After my treatment, work laid me off. I took a trip from Montana (where I was living) to CA (where I’m from) to visit my parents and family. While in CA, my roommate called to let me know she got a new job and would be moving. So, now I had no job or place to live. I ended up staying in CA with my brother and started your program. My boyfriend (in MT) dumped me a month ago because he said I’m not a happy person.

I’ve been working part time and looking for a full time job with benefits. I need to find something soon, or I may have to try a smaller program for awhile. I’m feeling pretty depressed, but all things considered I think it’s warranted. Have you or anyone you’ve known with Hep C had a problem with red or bloodshot eyes? My eyes started getting red a couple months before I was diagnosed.

Thank you Lloyd for your help and for helping so many others.

Sincerely,
Laurie

Hi Laurie:

My eyes have been red since I used interferon 11 years ago. It damages some of the veins that go to the eye, it has a name but I forgot it. It is a known side effect of hep c. Also rheumatoid arthritis can cause red eyes.

Interferon does not work on geno type 1 and it is well known, well published. To use interferon on geno type 1 should be a criminal offense and many doctors agree with me on this. I knew a Laurie G. in high school, that would not be you would it?

Where are you in California? I need a good employee. Feel better, it is hard to recover from interferon and the hep a & b vaccine. If you can not afford program 4 I can make you a targeted program that
fits your ability to pay.

In good health
Lloyd
